Congratulations to our Crestar Abacus students!
October 5, 2012
In the recent International Mathematics and Mental Arithmetic Competition held in Hsin Chu, Taiwan (with 1200 participants from 10 countries) held by International Abacus Mathematics Association (IAMA) – our Crestar Abacus students were awarded 2nd and 3rd place winners in both mathematics and mental arithmetic categories.
Crestar Abacus, which was established in 1988, has an active curriculum that focuses on improving concentration and exercising the children’s brains when using the abacus. There are programmes for various age groups, ranging from ages 5 to 12 (K1 to Primary 6), designed to complement the local mathematics curriculum.
Crestar Learning Centre is also an approved examination centre of the IAMA, Taiwan. We encourage life-long learning and one of our aims is that the kids should be interested in learning for its own sake, not just for good results.
