As part of Singapore’s SG60 celebrations, a large-scale art mural titled Building Our Nation Over Generations was unveiled at Promenade MRT station on 2 July 2025 and will be available for viewing until 1 July 2026. Designed by Ms Fadhlin AG, Head of Art at Crestar Learning Centre, the mural (spanning 13.5 metres wide and 2.1 metres high) was created entirely from reused plastic toys.
Ms Fadhlin worked with more than 5,000 preschoolers, family members, and educators from Kinderland, ELFA, NurtureStars, Skool4Kidz, and The Grange International — setting a record for the largest number of young children ever involved in such a project. The resulting artwork was also officially recognised by the Singapore Book of Records as the largest mural made of reused plastics, marking a dual achievement in both scale and sustainability.
This mural stands as Crestar Learning Centre’s contribution to sustainability through art—celebrating the nation’s legacy journey while inspiring environmental responsibility across generations. The project was made possible through a meaningful collaboration with SMRT Trains, YTL PowerSeraya, and Lions Befrienders.

This art mural not only celebrated Singapore’s 60-year history but also highlighted the power of community and sustainability through art.
Conceptualisation of theMural
Ms Fadhlin A.G. artistic leadership realised into an art mural which visually depicts the vibrant journey of Singapore’s transformation. Her design captures the nation’s evolution—from its founding by Sir Stamford Raffles to modern landmarks like Marina Bay Sands—through a cohesive and engaging narrative.
The mural weaves together historical milestones, cultural icons, and national “firsts” in Singapore’s 60-year journey. It also celebrates everyday heroes and beloved mascots that promote values such as kindness, sustainability, and community spirit. Ms Fadhlin’s inclusive and educational design invites both children and the public to reflect on Singapore’s progress and shared identity.
“I find it deeply rewarding to have designed a mural that carries meaningful significance,” Ms Fadhlin shared. She added that witnessing children’s joy and pride in contributing to this environmentally conscious artwork was truly inspiring.
